Polygon 4 sided rope

I recently tried a beading stitch that I have never doen before, I was a Polygon 4 sided rope which is an African stitch. I made a bracelet with it from the book Mastering Beadwork by Carol Huber Cypher and the pattern in the Octagonish Bracelet. The main reason why I made this bracelet was because I liked the clasp which is like a button and a button hole, something different from what I am used to but I enjoyed doing it.

Mixing Medias

At Tafe I have been experimenting with using different materials to make jewellery. I have been exploring with polymer clay and wanted to try and mix it with some silver. I made these earrings by cutting out the flowers and doming them and attaching the polymer clay domes that I had made, with wire. The original plan was to rivet the polymer clay to the silver but the clay couldn't take the pressure of the hammering so i changed it a little bit.

Jewellery for a good cause

Last week I made some pieces that are going to be sold in a silent auction at an Australia's Biggest Morning Tea morning tea being held by someone I know. I have made this bracelet and also a bookmark. The funds from the sales at this morning tea silent auction will be donated to help the funds for cancer research.
